Straight Flute
Straight flute reamers are for general purpose use in almost all materials and are the moast common choice.
Left-hand spiral flutes are ideal for cast iron, brass and materials where negative shear is effective. Surface finish is improved because chips cannot flow back into the flutes. Never use left-hand spiral reamers in a blind hole
